New 4-H Volunteer Requirements
Adults interested in becoming a volunteer with the Madison County 4-H program must complete a seven step process. These steps do not need to be done in sequence, but must all be completed before an adult begins working with youth in our county. If you are interested in becoming a 4-H Volunteer, please call 740-852-0975 to schedule an interview appointment with Janet Wasko Myers, 4-H Extension Educator.
- Process to Becoming a 4-H Volunteer
- Completed and signed 4-H Volunteer Application
- Read, agreed to and signed 4-H Volunteer Standards of Behavior
- Completed Interest Checklist
- Completed Ohio BCI Background Check
- Completion of Interview with 4-H Extension Educator
- References checked
- Participation in a new 4-H Volunteer orientation
4-H Volunteer Opportunities
Three categories will apply for filing purposes. Please review the following descriptions and responsibilities and let our office know which position you will be coordinating.
Requirements for Tenured 4-H Volunteers
We have a tremendous core of 4-H Voluntees with with the Madiosn County 4-H program. 4-H Volunteers who have given one or more years of service need to complete the following requirements:
- Update a 4-H Volunteer re-enrollment form and submit by March 15 to the Extension office
- Review the 4-H Volunteer Stands of Behavior and commit to upholding those standards.
- Attend a mandatory 4-H Volunteer training or opportunity at the county, district, or state level.
