One of the most memorable experiences a 4-H member will ever have is attending 4-H camp. Camp Clifton is proud to offer a wide variety of experiences and activities to help make those memories. The Clifton Gorge provides campers with the opportunity to canoe, go fishing, catch crawdads, and hike to the famous Clifton Mill. The low and high ropes courses gives campers a change to challenge their mental and physical skills. Campfires, vespers, games, cabin time, outpost camping, hikes, swimming, archery, cabin clean up, candle lighting and so much more provide ample opportunity for memories to be made.

4-H Camp Clifton is tucked away in the south side of the Clifton Gorge and John Bryan State Park near Yellow Springs, Ohio. The camp was founded in 1929 thanks to the efforts of the 4-H Camp Clifton Corporation, a partnership between 7 counties.. The camp would not have been possible without the fundraising efforts of outstanding volunteers in the 4-H program and overwhelming community support.

It is a full-service camp that offers a wide variety of personal and environmental education opportunities. Approximately 2,000 youth and adults camp annually at 4-H Camp Clifton. There are nine surrounding county 4-H programs that call Camp Clifton home including Madison, Greene, Union, Shelby, Logan, Champaign, Clark, Preble, and Fayette counties. In addition to the county camps, Camp Clifton hosts additional user groups including schools, churches and adult organizations enjoy our camp annually as well.

90 % percent of Camp Clifton's operating budget comes from camper registration fees, but it is important to note that the camp strives to keep fees as low as possible to assure as many youth as possible can afford to attend camp. As a result, Camp operates on a very tight budget. When unexpected costs, facility improvements, and major renovations are needed, we rely heavily on contributions from the community to subsidize the camp’s needs.

As a result of the very difficult decision to suspend 4-H camps this summer to keep our youth safe, help is needed to cover basic facility costs such as insurance, utilities, security, and basic maintenance such as removing tree limbs from cabin roofs.

Now more than ever, 4-H Camp Clifton needs your help until we can welcome our youth back in the summer of 2021.  Our current goal is to raise $30,000. toward keeping our camp afloat until next year. Please consider donating at buckeyefunder.osu.edu/4hcampclifton!
