*Note: You do not have to be a 4-H volunteer OR go through the Ohio 4-H Volunteer process

Livestock Key Leader Application and Information:

Livestock Committee applications/nomination forms for 2021 will be available soon.

Livestock Key Leader Duties: (1 year renewable term from September 1 through August 31)

  • Serve as Jr. Fair Barn Superintendent for your species/barn area
  • Assemble a committee of at least 3 adults for your species/barn area to assist with Jr. Fair responsibilities
  • Attend regular meetings with Jr. Fair Coordinators
  • Work with Jr. Fair Board, Jr. Fair Coordinators, Jr. Fair Sales Committee, Senior Fair Board, and OSU Extension to conduct a successful fair
  • Propose any fair book revisions to Jr. Fair Coordinators by requested date
  • Assist OSU Extension with educational opportunities such as Skillathon, Quality Assurance, and Clinics

Livestock Key Leader Committee Meetings/Important Dates:

  • *Meeting: November 13, 2019, 6:30-8:00pm - Book Revisions
  • November 15, 2019: Book Revisions due, Guidelines and Calendar dates due
  • December 15, 2020: Jr. Show Budgets and needs due (awards)
  • January 8, 2020: Livestock Show Judge recommendations due to Jr. Fair Coordinator
  • *Meeting: March 4, 2020, 6:30-8:00pm
  • April 1, 2020: Skillathon Volunteer list due to OSU Extension
  • *Meeting: May 6, 2020, 6:30-8:00pm
